Since Anita released her Punjabi album ”HEER FROM DENMARK” in India via record company Goyal Music, November 2006, her career as an international recording artist and star has expanded leaps and bounds.

Asians/ Indian’s across the globe have shown great appreciation and support for her work and talent. This led to her touring countries such as UK, Canada, Germany, Norway, Denmark, China, Israel, Greenland and the USA, performing and entertaining crowds of thousands with her outstanding performances.

In 2007 she created a Hindi Song for Indian Cricket team during the World cup 2007 as well as having success singing Hindi Bhajans for the Ram Navemi celebrations in Punjab.

TV channels and newspapers across Punjab and many other cities in India have been following Anita’s musical career closely since its initial and official launch in Punjab India in March 2006.

Anita Lerche is the first non Asian woman from the West to sing and release a solo album in the Indian Punjabi language, an outstanding achievement.

THE TIMES OF INDIA writes: “…Anita has also rendered traditional Heer in the album and succeeded in imbuing the depth, pain and passion of the rich composition. In fact, going by her style and pronunciation, one would get the impression that she is a Punjabi only to discover that she is a white.

Anita received a Punjabi Music Award in 2007 for BEST NRI FEMALE DEBUT from the Punjabi music channel MH1, and she has been acknowledged by PUNJABI
UNIVERSITY, Patiala, for her grand work for the Punjabi language and culture.

Also received the SITA MATA AWARD from a religious society in Jalandhar for singing Hindi Bhajans.

Recently Anita received a DANISH WOLRD AWARD 2009 for World Track of the Year with her brand new Punjabi Bhangra song “Maahiya” feat. Cheshire Cat. It is now released as a single.

Anita Lerche’s singing capability doesn’t end there. She is in fact able to sing and perform in 14 different languages of the world.

Anita has a degree from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, where she studied Musical Theatre. It let her to perform at theatres in Denmark and UK in shows such as: West Side Story, The White Horse Inn, Showboat and Triel By Jury. Also she released the album “I LOVE A PIANO” with Pop & Musical Theatre ballads.

Currently Anita is working on her 3rd Solo Punjabi Album. And she is featured in the newly released Punjabi song “AAO JI”, produced by King G Mall, which is already a hit on YouTube. Moreover a documentary called “FROM HERLEV TO BOLLYWOOD” has recently been broadcasted by Danish Television DR2 – following Anita in Mumbai and her dreams about going into Bollywood.
