Katy Perry and Russell Brand  enjoy a romantic bike ride together in New York

She was only last night performing a concert in Canada on her California Dreams World tour. 

But Katy Perry was so keen to spend some precious time with husband Russell Brand, that she jetted into New York just hours after stepping off stage.

And today, the couple made sure that they enjoyed their day, going on a romantic bike ride together in the city.

Russell, 36, appeared very happy to be back in the company of his popstar wife and gazed lovingly at her as they sat and dined al fresco.

Leading the way: Looking more casual in a vest top and cropped cream trousers, Russell took the lead from his wife in their ride to lunch

However, the pair only have a short time together, with Katy due back for another performance in Canada tomorrow at the Montreal Bell Centre.She then has back-to-back performances for 2 days before heading back to the U.S for a concert in Cleveland, Ohio on July 5, all as part of her California Dreams Tour.

Enough with the bikes: Once the couple had tired of their rides, they went for a stroll around the streets instead

Katy has performances booked in the U.S right through until the middle of September before taking the tour abroad to Brazil and the UK, which ends in November. 

Russell, meanwhile, is in the middle of filming Rock of Ages, alongside Tom Cruise and Julianne Hough in Miami.

He will then take a break to join his superstar wife on tour.
